Mai (Mariska) German Shepherd Dog Chicago, IL

Mai (Mariska) was found as a stray in the Bronzeville neighborhood of Chicago. A caring citizen brought her into a vets office to be checked for a microchip, but sadly she didn’t have one and was transferred to animal control. Mai is a young girl estimated to be no more than 2 years old. She is active and LOVES to play fetch! Mai definitely is still has a lot of puppy in her and requires an adopter who be a leader for her, otherwise she can get into trouble! Mai can be mouthy and will jump up if she’s excited. She doesn’t always understand why she can’t grab your shoe! Mai is housebroken and does very well in a crate. She knows basic commands but would benefit from continued training with her adopters. When she first arrived to her foster home she was nervous around new dogs, but with proper socialization she is doing great! Her foster dad takes her on lots of adventures in the city which she enjoys. Mai has not been cat tested but she goes crazy for squirrels - so no cat for her. Mai does have a strong herding instinct true to the breed, so children will need to be 15 or older in her forever home. She is a fun, happy girl that will thrive in a GSD experienced home.
