THIS IS A COURTESY LISTING ---- This dog is not in foster care with BAPBR and we make no guarantees about his/her health or temperament. We are providing a service to Del Norte County Animal Control to help with adoption. Please contact the shelter directly if you are interested in meeting or adopting this dog--their info is below.
Mariah is a sweet young Pit Bull blend, about a year old. She and her brother, Odin (also available for adoption) were abandoned. She had a pretty pronounced limp when she came to us, and a visit to the vet revealed that she has a torn anterior cruciate ligament, which will require surgery to repair. Even with her injury, she tries to be playful, and we are limiting her activity. She is very sweet and loving, and adores affection. She does not appreciate other dogs going by her kennel, we're not sure if that's her nature, or if it is due to her injury and the stressful shelter environment. If you are interested in Mariah, please contact Del Norte Animal Control, (707) 464-7235.
We pre-screen adopters interested in the Special Needs and/or Pit Bull Terrier blends at Del Norte Animal Control, and an adoption application will be required from those interested in providing a fab furever home to Mariah. Please call us at (707) 464-7235 for additional information. More photos of this dog may be available on the Dogs of Del Norte County Facebook page.
Born Again Pit Bull Rescue (BAPBR) regularly works with the wonderful volunteers at the Del Norte County Animal Control Shelter located out in rural Crescent City, CA (a small coastal town on the OR/CA border). They have a very small shelter with small indoor 3x6 kennel runs, low foot traffic, odd adoption viewing hours and it rains a lot which means the dogs can't always come outside to play--so we want YOU to see some of their really great dogs that they have up for adoption. It's only a short 5-hour drive from Portland to adopt your new family member!
Del Norte County Animal Control is located in Crescent City, CA. They are open Monday thru Friday from 8am to 5pm. They are closed Saturday and Sunday.
Address: 2650 Washington Blvd, Crescent City, CA 95531
