Meet Margie Rose! Margie is a purebred yellow lab who just turned six as she “retired” from farm life. She had multiple litters* of beautiful pups and was likely an amazing mama given her calm demeanor and nurturing soul. But now she is ready to get back some of that love and do some major relaxing! ??

Margie spent all of her time outside (and in the barn) back on the farm, so she has taken a little time getting used to asking to go out, walking on a leash, using the stairs, and even just being in the house. Fortunately, she is a very smart girl and in under two weeks she has learned to sit and stay to wait for her meals, walk beautifully on her leash and she has not had a single accident in the house. She’s an amazing, affectionate, loyal, and gentle dog. ??

Margie is looking for a person or a family who is willing to spend a lot of time outside with her. She loves long walks and she could spend all day outside just sitting in the sun or rolling in the grass. She loves to be near her people and is especially happy following you around the yard while you work in the garden, play with the kids, or bask in the sun yourself! ??

Margie is still learning good manners when she takes treats (she is not aggressive, but gets very excited and needs someone who will teach her boundaries!) and also how to be home alone (inside) without barking (what a transition for a dog that has spent her life outside!) She is not yet crate trained, but will happily spend time in her crate as she chooses. She would love someone who is home a lot, but who is willing to soothe her through learning to be alone in a house and possibly crate train her if that becomes necessary!
