Despite the challenging start to his life, he has shown remarkable resilience and is now thriving in his foster home in Connecticut, where he has been since March 2023, making him our longest resident ever.<br/><br/>Marco is a true cuddle enthusiast, loving nothing more than to snuggle up next to his humans. He enjoys sleeping in bed and will settle in for the night, making sure to snuggle under a cozy blanket that he paws at to get just right. Playtime is Marco's favorite—he's a pro at zoomies, fetch, and tug of war, and his joy is contagious.<br/><br/>He’s also highly intelligent and enjoys engaging activities like snuffle mats, food puzzles, and lick mats. Marco is always ready for an adventure and walks well on a leash. He gets along well with other dogs and is also fine with cats, making him a great companion for a multi-pet household.<br/><br/>While Marco has made great strides since leaving the shelter, he is nervous around new people and needs time to build trust. Once he feels secure, he forms strong bonds and is incredibly loving. Marco needs an adult-only home, as children make him anxious. He requires a patient and experienced adopter willing to work with him on his reactivity to strangers and his tendency to get overstimulated.
