Meet Mallory - $400

Meet Mallory!

Mallory is a one year old, 35 LB, Australian Cattle Dog Mix who loves going on walks, learning tricks, and? cuddling with you on the couch. Mallory would be a great dog for anyone looking to adopt who is able to give her the time and energy she needs.

Mallory is my fifth foster, and she has easily became one of my favorites. ?What I love most about Mallory is? her ability to pick up on things.? She’s incredibly intelligent, and can learn most new tricks within a day. She’s very eager to please, and incredibly obedient.?

Mallory also loves to cuddle and is very affectionate. We have spent several naps together sleeping next to each other on the couch?. If I’m sitting on the couch watching TV, more often than not she will join me as well and sit right next to me.?

Her previous foster parent had dogs, and the dogs played together very well. ?

She is completely housetrained, and has had no accidents in the house. She has not attempted to chew anything in my house, and she listens extremely well. She sleeps through the night in her crate, and she doesn’t whine.?
?
In a normal day, I walk Mallory about 4 to 5 times (I live in the lower Eastside and do not have a yard). ?In between walks, Mallory spends most of her time lounging throughout the house, mostly at my feet.

While her new owner will not need to walk her as much as I do, they will need to devote more time and energy than an average dog to prevent her from being bored, which can lead to less than ideal behavior.

?On walks, Mallory can still be a bit nervous around loud noises, other dogs, and occasionally people. ?She shows this by pulling on the leash and barking. This has been improving every day, but it is still a work in progress. I’ve had a lot of success ?helping her work through this by identifying a trigger, having her sit, and giving her treats while the trigger approaches and passes by. This helps to change her focus to sitting and eating, and she seems to forget that normally she would bark at such things.

Overall, Mallory will make an excellent dog to any new owner, and I’m going to be incredibly sad for her to go, as she has been one of my favorites I’ve worked with.

She has energy and will require a $100 refundable training deposit.

You may be contacted via email if there are concerns or questions. Once all of your information is reviewed and if your application is approved, you will be notified via email.
