Meet Malibu

Hello! My name is Malibu and I'm a 2 + 1/2 yr old girl who now weighs almost 70lbs! You see, when shelter staff first met me, I was about 20lbs lighter. I was very malnourished, but now, I have put on weight well and am doing great! I came from a home without other pets or kids, and that would be the best fit for me again. I'm over-the-top sweet with my people--I love to give and receive lots of affection--but do not do well with other animals. I'm looking for a very special person who can open their heart to me, as I may not have a typical lifespan. I have a very significant heart murmur that could be indicative of a congenital defect in my heart, resulting in a chance that I may not live to a typical dog's age. I am comfortable and able to enjoy life until that time comes, so the shelter team thinks I'm worth giving a chance!!
