This sweet, year-old Dutch Shepherd has been through a lot in his short life, but you would never know it after seeing his smile light up the room. Mako came to us after living in horrible conditions with his five daughters in Mexico. Through the efforts of our volunteer community, we were able to dad and daughters here to start a new life.
Mako is very gentle and sweet and you can tell he dotes on his daughters. They will all be ready for adoption soon, but we feel Mako needs a home where he can be the center of the universe. He’s been through a lot and this sweet boy could use love, training and good food so he can learn how kind humans can be.
Mako is fun-loving, and as a Dutch Shepherd, he is energetic. This breed is incredibly smart and typically high energy. So, he will need plenty of mental and physical stimulation. He has never had any kind of training, so will need to learn the basics of house doggy behavior and will need a patient family to help him. With his gentle nature, we think he would do OK with children. After all, he’s been taking great care of his five daughters! We don’t know yet about other dogs, but so far he hasn’t been reactive.
This boy deserves a great life.
