Major - courtesy posting German Shepherd Dog & Great Pyrenees Mix Gig Harbor, WA

Major is a 1 ½ year old male German shepherd/Great Pyrenees mix--he weighs 95lbs. He is not neutered (adopter will be required, under contract, to neuter him by a specific date). Major is a very sweet boy and is full of energy. He loves to snuggle, run and play fetch. He gets along with other dogs, but in play he could hurt little dogs because of his size and enthusiasm. He’s been to doggie daycare many times and does great. He’s never been around cats or any other type animals, so I’m not sure how he would do.
Major is trained with basic skills--sit, stay, lay down, and leave it. He does run off and not come back when called--he thinks a game. So I don’t him out of the fence yard unless he’s on a leash or the dog park that is fenced. He is leash trained and only pulls if he wants to play. He loves new people and dogs and can get very excited when he sees them and barks. He is crate trained and has always been crated when left alone in the house…and at night. I’m having to find him a new home because of my life situation has changed and he’s not getting the attention he needs and it breaks my heart.

Major needs a home with a fenced yard (not invisible/electric fence), an all adult home or one with older children, and a home where he doesn’t need to be regularly left alone long hours. (He lives in Long Branch, Washington)
