Meet Major
I LOVE LOVE LOVE other dogs. I'm sweet with all people, but a little timid of men sometimes. I've been a good boy with cats and enjoy being wherever you are. I will need a fenced yard in my forever home to make sure I stay safe. I enjoy going for walks and smelling all of the smells.
I have some eye issues that make me weary of stairs - so I'd rather not have to do them. A couple are ok - but a whole flight? NO THANKS!
I've had a rough go in life - but the wonderful people at HMAS have taken me into their care and promised me a wonderful life!
I was found roaming as a stray. I was scared of anyone that tried to help and was sleeping on the side of the road, hoping my human would come for me. Eventually, a kind person lured me with food and live-trapped me. I was finally safe and had the best night's sleep that first night at the shelter!
Staff quickly realized something wasn't quite right with me, and the doctor confirmed that I couldn't see very well. A trip to an eye doctor revealed that I have either retinal damage, or degeneration - only time will tell which one it is.
I am happy and comfortable, I just can't see very well. The doc things about 30%. Our office manager would be happy to give you more information - all of you have to do is ask!
Major is current on vaccines, neutered and heartworm negative.
He takes a daily eye supplement to help maintain his current eye health. IF his condition progresses, he will need daily eye drops, but so far, he is fine without.
