Maizie is a sweet but shy 2 year old Pomeranian, Maizie is a puppy mill survivor and as a result, is very shy with new people.
She likes other dogs. She is not potty trained and she will require a secure fenced yard so she can learn and be safe while she explores outdoors.
Leash walking is still very new for Maizie and she will need practice. Maizie is a beautiful girl who is looking for someone who can be very patient with her and show her that the world is not so scary.

We often adopt same day as the first visit but Maizie will likely require multiple visits for potential adopters to gain her trust and see how special she really is.

Most dogs who come from the shelter will not be house trained.

Most adoptable dogs will need some reintroduction into a home, potty training, basic manners and social skills. Please be prepared to provide that training and dedication that will be needed.

We do not have any way of knowing if a dog or cat will do well with all children or all other animals.

It is important everyone in the home is introduced to the new pet.

We also require that any family dogs come into meet your potential adoptee. Please be sure your dogs are spayed or neutered and current on vaccines (distemper - parvo and rabies) before bringing them to the shelter.

All dogs must be transported home in a travel crate to transport your new pup home safely.


Renters must provide a copy of a lease indicating pets are allowed or contact information for the landlord.
