Meet Maiden

Maiden is ready to share her story! ♥

Oh, where to begin. Up until a few months ago, my life was pretty quiet. I spent most of my days outside and always greeted my owners with a smile. I did not get a lot of attention, but it was a quaint little life. Then, one day it all changed. This handsome fella came wandering onto the property. He was a big ole guy with a lovely white coat. We spent our days exploring together and nights lying under the stars. We were so in love. He was a traveling man though, and I wasn't. We ended up going our separate ways, but not before I became pregnant with seven little puppies. I may be a bit biased but they were the most beautiful puppies ever. My owners were not prepared for the responsibility of caring for a nursing mom and 7 puppies. So, before I knew it we ended up on our own.

Do you know how hard it is to be completely on your own and keep track of seven puppies? They kept wanting to explore, run off, and made me want to pull my fur out. Thankfully, I put my herding skills to use and was able to keep everyone together. We ended up being picked up and brought to the animal shelter. Unfortunately, one of my puppies tested positive for Parvo which meant the whole litter needed out by the end of the day due to Parvo being so contagious. I was TERRIFIED. Thankfully, this rescue ended up pulling my babies. I had no idea what would happen to me, but at least my puppies were safe.

Then, all of a sudden someone came for me and turns out this rescue was also taking me! A skinny mama who was malnourished. I ended up in a wonderful foster home, and now that I am all vetted it is time to find my forever family! ♥

My name is Maiden and I am a 2-year-old, 55lb female Aussie mix.

-What would be your fosters ideal home?

Maiden is a great dog! She is most comfortable and happy when her people are around but is fine when they aren’t. She loves her bones, toys, hanging outside, and going on walks. She gets along great with other dogs and cats, too. She enjoys going on car rides. She enjoys being around other dogs but I feel she would do well in an only dog home too!

-Is there anything else you would like to mention about your foster dog?

Maiden is a smart, happy-go-lucky, affectionate dog. She loves to get her energy out and then relax beside you. If feel for her age, she is pretty laid back.

____________________________________________________________________

Phew! That took longer than I thought! Hopefully, all your questions about me were answered though! Before you apply to adopt me I have a few last things that I would like to discuss!

-How can someone adopt me?
The first step is to fill out an adoption app for me at https://www.pyrpawsandfluffytailsrescue.com/adoption-app

Once this app comes in, it will get sent on to my foster family and they will help me decide if we are a match or not.

-Where are you being fostered?
I am being fostered in Purcell, OK.

-Would I need to pick you up?
Yes, you would need to pick me up. This rescue does not send us on transports. It is less stress on us that way. Plus, you and I can already start bonding on the road trip home!

-Can I adopt you even if I don't live in Oklahoma?
Yes, I am okay moving to a new state.

-How much is your adoption fee?
My adoption fee is $225.

That includes my DHLPP, Rabies, and Bordatella shots. I will be micro-chipped, heart-worm tested, have a fecal done, be de-wormed, be spayed/neutered, and will be current on heart-worm and flea/tick prevention.
