Magnolia is approx. 3 years old and 20 lbs. She was rescued from an Iowa breeder who had received multiple citations for the lack of good care he showed his dogs. SHE IS BEING FOSTERED IN THE ST. LOUIS AREA.

Maggie is a shy, timid and quiet girl that is still getting use to life outside a puppy mill. She is more comfortable with women than men. She has yet to seek out attention and still unsure of being petted. Her safe space is her dog bed and she likes to hang out in it and watch everything. She has learned a lot from the foster's pets and enjoys having canine friends around. She loves to run free in the yard but will require a secure physical fence attached to the home.

Maggie has discovered toys but also has a tendency to eat them, so care will need to be given around toys and not left with her unattended. She is a sweet girl that will soon blossom into a more confident and social lady!

Maggie's adoption fee is $365. She is spayed, microchipped, current on vaccines, received a dental and on monthly flea and heart worm prevention. Visit leiashope.org for an application and our process.

WE DO ADOPT OUT OF THE AREA, HOWEVER, WE DO NOT SHIP NOR ARRANGE TRANSPORTS. YOU WILL HAVE TO COME TO DECATUR, IL TO MEET THE DOG. IF FLYING, DOGS MUST FLY IN THE CABIN AND THE EXPENSE OF THE HEALTH CERTIFICATE IS ON THE ADOPTER.

THE APPLICATION MUST BE COMPLETED AND SUBMITTED BEFORE WE CAN START THE PROCESS.

IT CAN TAKE AT LEAST 7 DAYS TO PROCESS AN APPLICATION SOMETIMES LONGER DEPENDING ON VOLUNTEER AVAILABILITY AND NUMBER OF APPLICATIONS RECEIVED SO PLEASE BE PATIENT AS WE ARE VOLUNTEERS WITH FAMILIES AND FULL TIME JOBS AND DOGS OF OUR OWN TO CARE FOR.

IF INTERESTED IN A PUPPY (UNDER 9 MONTHS): YOU MUST HAVE A FLEXIBLE WORK SCHEDULE OR SOMEONE HOME ALL DAY. PUPPIES NEED TO BE LET OUT TO POTTY OFTEN, THEY NEED SOCIALIZATION AND BONDING AND NEED TRAINING (HOUSETRAINING AND BEHAVIORAL TRAINING). IF YOU WORK LONG HOURS, HAVE A BUSY SOCIAL SCHEDULE OR NOT FINANCIALLY SECURE THEN A PUPPY IS NOT FOR YOU.
