Maggie's Story
Maggie is a tiny girl with a big heart and an even bigger love for her people. This sweet, affectionate little companion wants nothing more than to be near you — curled up beside you, following you around the house, or snuggled in your lap. She bonds quickly, thrives on companionship, and brings so much joy with her gentle, loving nature.

Personality

Maggie is cuddly, people-oriented, alert, and incredibly smart. She’s food-motivated (especially in the kitchen!) and eager to learn. She’s doing wonderfully with basic training and is quickly improving with her potty skills — she just needs consistency and patience.

She has a high energy level for her size, enjoying activity, playtime, and lots of engagement throughout the day. When she’s done, she’s more than happy to curl up and relax.

What She Loves

- Stuffed toys
- Her cozy dog bed
- All food and treats
- Being as close to her humans as possible
- Snuggling under blankets
- Little adventures… as long as it’s not too cold (Texas girl here, brrr)

Kids, Dogs, & Cats

Kids:
Maggie hadn’t been around small children before rescue, but she did wonderfully when her foster’s young grandchildren visited. After warming up, she happily approached them, accepted gentle pets, and even gave kisses.

Dogs:
Great with small dogs! She lives with them currently and does well. Large dogs are unknown, but she has no history of issues.

Cats:
She’s wary, may bark, but doesn’t engage beyond that. She’s getting more comfortable every day.

Training & Skills

- Crate: Doesn’t need one but has used it without issue
- Leash: Pulls and needs more practice
- No destructive habits — sticks to toys
- Very quick learner and motivated by food

Ideal Home

Maggie would thrive in almost any loving home — a family, a couple, or someone looking for a devoted companion. She loves activity and attention but can also settle and relax beautifully. She enjoys other small dogs and would be happy with a canine friend but doesn’t require one.

She’s still adapting to Canadian winters, so she’ll appreciate cozy sweaters and short potty breaks on cold days!

Maggie is the sweetest little girl with so much love to give. Whoever adopts her will truly be one lucky person.
