Maggie Chihuahua Mix Huntsville, AL

Meet Maggie. This little Diva is approximately 3 years old, and she weighs in at 14.5 pounds, but do not let her smaller size fool you, as she has attitude for miles. We know she has Chihuahua in her, and we believe she may also have some corgi in her. Whoever adopts Maggie will need to have some patience. It took two weeks before she decided that it was okay to cuddle with her foster mom. Once entering the circle of trust, Maggie will like being with her human. She is fine by herself in the backyard, but would rather the human be outside, too. Just to be there. Inside, Maggie can chill on the couch by herself. She is also happy lying across her foster mom's lap. She will make a great lap warmer, come winter.

Maggie loves riding in the car. She is always hoping the trip takes her to a drive-thru that has pup-cups, but she enjoys the ride either way.

Squeaky toys and balls do not capture Maggie’s interest. She must have missed that day at dog school. She has also been reluctant to respond to any commands, but our hope is that once she learns to trust again, she will settle down, and become more open to learning new things.

Maggie was not a fan of wearing a collar, or walking on a leash, but her foster mom has worked with her, and she now wears a collar like a champ, and gets excited to wear the leash because it means she’s either going for a walk, or for a ride in the car.

Maggie seems to thrive best in a structured environment and has settled into a nice routine in her foster home.

Maggie is not completely house-trained, but with a bit more work, we are sure she can master that skill as well. She would love to have a fenced backyard.

Maggie has been spayed, chipped, and is up to date on her vaccines. Maggie is being fostered in Madison Alabama but is willing to travel to find the perfect home.
