Maggie German Shepherd Dog Mix Jefferson City, MO

Our sweet mama, Maggie, is looking for her own forever home. She took care of 6 babies and traveled safely with them from Texas. Maggie is young at about 2 years old. She has been a fantastic young mama, and now it's time for her to be a wonderful dog for a loving family. She is a "Texas Special" GSD mix with short hair, so anyone looking for the shepherd look without the shedding...she's your girl! Maggie has been in a foster home with several other dogs, and she has done well with all of them, big and small. She has the energy of a very young dog, and she will also cuddle right up in your lap. Maggie is very food motivated, so training will be fun with her, She has learned to look for squirrels and rabbits at her foster home, so recall work is a must if you want to train her to be off leash. She walks beautifully on a leash, and with a little practice, would make a great running partner. She has been sweet and tolerant of small children. She's still a bit of a jumper, but she's working on that. Maggie is a dream rescue dog. She's house trained. She is crate trained. She is not using the crate much in her foster home, because she has friends to keep her busy. She would do very well in a home with another dog who loves to play. Maggie would not do well in a home with cats, given her prey drive.
