SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS - Maeve is a precious girl who came to us from a NC shelter. She came in with horribly yeasty skin and devoid of hair from a long neglected flea infestation. She was lethargic, in heat and overall very puny feeling. It was her good fortune to leave the shelter when she did as she was suffering with a pyometra which would have taken her life had we not discovered it and gotten her into surgery. Today Maeve's hair is growing back and she is bouncing around feeling wonderful! She is now ready for adoption and will make a wonderful addition to most homes!
Our adoption process starts with your email to carerescue@aol.com or Petfinder inquiry. After we receive it, we will email you our prescreening questionnaire. Your answers will help us determine that your home and lifestyle matches the needs of the dog and our adoption criteria. Once determined, we will set up a private meeting with you and the dog at a park near our private kennel just east of Richmond. After meeting the dog and determining that it matches your preferences for a pet, we will accept your application. A home visit by one of our trained volunteers is required for all adoptions, and we will speak with your vet to ensure that you are a responsible pet owner.
