Maeve's Story
COURTESY POST

Meet Maeve, the total package. She’s smart, sweet, a little goofy, and endlessly loyal once she trusts you.

She was found dumped in Yakima County with her brother when they were just 9 weeks old. Both were scared of the world at first, but with time, love, and patience, they came out of their shells. Her brother was adopted a few months ago and is thriving in his new home, now it’s Maeve’s turn to find her happily ever after.

We think it would be best if she goes to a home with another friendly dog. She absolutely shines when she has a canine companion to play, explore, and cuddle with. It’s where she feels most confident and content.

She currently lives with dogs and cats of all sizes… even a bird (which we don’t necessarily recommend, lol). Maeve is wonderful with indoor cats, but outdoors she can’t resist the urge to chase. If she catches up, she’ll gently pin them and shower them with kisses, she means well, but it can definitely scare some kitties!

Maeve also loves people and shows her affection through plenty of kisses. Whether it’s a quick “hello” or a full on face wash, she’s always happy to share the love.

She adores kids, enjoys long training or play sessions, and can often be found zooming around with her best doggy friend for hours. Maeve is crate, potty, and leash trained, knows sit, shake, and we’re working on wait. Her recall is excellent for her foster mom, but it will take some time and trust-building for that reliability to transfer to her new family. Once she bonds, she’s rock solid.

Her brother had a DNA test done, the results were - 31% Doberman Pinscher, 20% Siberian Husky, 13% Australian Cattle Dog, 11% German Shepherd Dog, 5% Border Collie

Maeve is spayed, vaccinated (including rabies), dewormed, and microchipped.

She’s ready to meet her forever family, ideally one with another dog ready to be her next best friend.

COURTESY POST: This pet is not in the care of Fur Ever Yours Dog Rescue and is being listed as a courtesy for an independent rescuer.
