Madox is a special pup. He has been through a tremendous amount, but as is the way with dogs, he has risen above his circumstances with the help of alot of loving folks, and hasn't let it affect his outlook on life! ? Madox arrived at the shelter lame in one leg and with a bullet in his chest wall. (The shelter saved the bullet post surgery, and we think it should go with him as a memento of all he has overcome) The shelter volunteers fundraised to make sure Madox got the FHO surgery that he needed to be pain free and live his best life going forward. It was performed by a board certified orthopedic surgeon and Madox has been a trooper with physical therapy and recovery. He will be having his final follow up this week, go Madox!!!

Madox gets nervous around pushy dogs and is a bit selective as a result. He does well one on one, but doggie daycare was not for him. He loves to take group walks with all sorts of dogs...large and small, male and female, he is an equal opportunity walking and hiking kind of dog! He minds well, is smart and attentive, wants to please, and knows some basic commands. His foster Mom says he has the absolute best house manners! He does value his toys and doesn't like for other dogs to try to steal them from him. He would do best in a dog savvy home with older children or no children, and with a single dog or just as the only pup. Madox has conquered the tough things and now needs a family that will dote on him.

Madox's foster shares a little bit about him, like most of us has has gotten hooked on a series that he counts on watching in the evening! ?
"Madox is great in the house. We walk him three times a day and he is house trained. He originally chewed the fluffy pillows in the living room. After I told him no, he stopped. He either follows me around the house or lays on the couch or bed. He listens with great eye contact. It’s one of his strongest advantages as a house dog. He rarely barks. He doesn’t demand your attention, but is thrilled to cuddle when you’re ready. His favorite thing is to get on the bed with me, my husband, and our dog to watch Madame Secretary on tv in the evening".
