We are in Rochester, NY, we adopt to people who live in the Rochester area. We do not ship our dogs and require home visits. Must live in area to adopt, will not respond to out of area/country requests. The dog listed will require a physically fenced yard. Fence must be complete and in place at the time of the home visit.

Meet Maddox!

This adorable 8 year old Lab mix has a sad story and is looking for a happily ever after. He was adopted as a puppy in South Carolina and came into rescue by way of a divorce with a tragic ending (his foster can tell you more about his history).

Maddox is a sweetheart of a dog and gets along with everyone he meets. He loves kids and follows around the toddler at his foster's house. He gets along with other dogs and doesn't mind cats either. He likes being around people and is an affectionate guy and likes to be pet. He loves to go for walks and does great in a harness, but does pull a little. He loves to roam around the yard, and for this reason we are requiring a fully physically fenced yard for him.

Maddox is a medium sized guy that weighs around 45lbs. For an older dog, he still has a lot of spunk and likes to play with toys in the yard and in the house. He has great house manners. He is completely house-broken and crate trained, though he prefers not to be crated. He does have some separation anxiety and is sad and nervous (but not destructive at all) when his people leave, but we think once he is settled with his new family, he will do just fine.

All our dogs have been treated for worms; heartworm tested (if age appropriate -7 mths or older); treated for fleas/ticks; microchip; and examined by veterinarian and given age appropriate vaccinations. We take every effort to ensure the health of the animal and you will receive a copy of all vet work performed.
