Meet Maddie
Meet Maddie, a sweet and resilient little beagle mix with the warmest brown eyes! At just 22 pounds and ~2 years old, Maddie has already shown the world her bravery. We rescued this gentle girl was rescued from a rural shelter and, with the love of a kind foster, is now ready to find her forever family.
Maddie has had quite the journey—she bravely overcame a tough case of pyometra, which has been fully resolved following her spay surgery. Now, with her health restored and a new lease on life, Maddie is thriving and eager for new adventures. She is heartworm positive but has already begun treatment (fully covered by Take Paws Rescue!) and is on the road to full recovery.
This lovely girl is now fully vaccinated, microchipped, and ready to shower her future family with love. Maddie is great with both kids and other dogs, making her an ideal fit for a family that can match her playful spirit and shower her with the affection she deserves. Maddie can’t wait to meet you—will you be the one to give her the happily-ever-after she’s been waiting for?

If you are interested in meeting and/or adopting, the first step is to please visit our website to complete an application and read all of our FAQs: https://www.takepawsrescue.org/adopt
**Please do not use the "Introduce Yourself" feature. The information needed to determine if you might be a match for one of our animals can only be found on our application. An inquiry, question, or introduction through Petfinder is NOT an application. All known details about our animals are posted on their profile and updated daily. Other info would be discussed in detail with the foster during the application review process. Due to the number of introductions/questions received (hundreds daily) we ask you submit an application on our website (that application can be used for any dog with Take Paws Rescue).
The adoption fee for adult dogs covers age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, spay/neuter if not yet performed, heartworm test & appropriate heartworm treatment by the rescue's vet. All dogs in our care are also kept up-to-date on HW/Flea Prevention. Please see our website for more information.
2022 Adoption Fee Scale for non-benefactor animals:
Puppies under 12 months - $350
Dogs over 12 months - $250
*Take Paws Rescue saves dogs from high-kill shelters in Southeast Louisiana, owner surrenders, and discarded dogs with uncertain futures. All of our animals live in foster homes where they are socialized, and well cared for. An application will be required to make sure it’s the perfect match!
For additional information, including the adoption process and our adoption fee scale for all our adoptable pets, see our FAQs page: https://www.takepawsrescue.org/faq
*Any breed labels used by Take Paws Rescue, its employees/volunteers, or on vet records provided cannot be guaranteed. Breed labels are given based on information obtained during intake and/or best guesses based on appearance and/or temperament of the dogs and Take Paws Rescue gives no assurance to the accuracy of these labels. Labels are necessary for postings to many animal networking sites, such as Pet Finder, and are no way a guarantee. Additionally, exact age and potential size cannot be guaranteed.
