Mabel French Bulldog Silverlake, WA

Mabel is a 6 year old (5/21/14) spayed female French Bulldog. She is paralyzed in the hind end due to Intervertebral Disk Disease (IVDD). She is also incontinent of urine and stool.

She will need someone who can lift her. Mabel is unable to “jump” up on a table or into a car. She will need someone who can bend and move to change her diaper.

While Mabel has a cart, she prefers to not use it at home and is picky about where she will use it. Mabel will not be able to be in the cart all the time and is FAST without the cart.

Mabel does have Trupanion insurance. It's about $50 per month. Her new family will need to keep that policy going. Not all things are covered, but there are many benefits to having this insurance.

Mabel is currently on a prescription diet which is not cheap. She has done best on this food.

Mabel is not a dog park kind of dog, but she does need access to being outside. She is spending more time outside now that she is somewhat able to “walk” Being able to go outside and "play" or check on her neighbors has improved her quality of life.

Mabel is also picky about people and can get protective of her person. She would do best with 1 or 2 people in the home, without a lot of visitors or new people to get to know.

Mabel is also on thyroid medications lifelong. She will need to continue these.

Mabel's perfect family will have the patience to help her with her cart, her diapering, and bladder expression. They will have NO CHILDREN.
Mabel will require a dog to dog meet and greet as she is very picky about who she will share her human with.
