Meet Lunabelle

The moment you have all been waiting for, meet Lunabelle! ♥

"Lunabelle is a big ol' playful puppy at heart. She is getting to see a whole different side of life now and wants to experience everything at once, lol. When seeing or experiencing something new she will initially jump back like “what the heck is that” but then she will come in for a closer look and become excited that this new experience isn’t a threat and she can enjoy or have fun with it. She is figuring out that she loves getting attention and will happily welcome more from anyone that would like to give it to her. She needs a little help understanding boundaries but once she has this figured out I believe she will do very well in public settings as she loves meeting new people. Anyone looking for a beautiful, playful pup with a great big heart would not go wrong welcoming Lunabelle into their family ??"

Lunabelle came to us after she went after her owner's chickens. A playful girl like her just wants to have fun! Her family couldn't have her going after the chickens but wanted to make sure she ended up somewhere safe. So, she joined our fluffy butt family! ♥
Lunabelle is a year-old female Great Pyrenees mix. She currently weighs about 63lbs. Luna is friendly when meeting new people and does well. Given her personality, we feel she would do well in social settings. Lunabelle has not shown to be a big chewer in her foster home. We are unsure if she would like to play fetch. She does love playing with toys. She has not had a chance to play in any bodies of water. However, she did enjoy a bath so may be a water dog! Lunabelle has not shown to have any food aggression or resource guarding issues in her foster home.

Lunabelle's personality is a mix of everything! She has a lot of energy and will play nonstop outside all day long if you let her. She does pretty well settling down when she is inside. Occasionally she gets a little bit of the zoomies at night but overall is pretty good inside the house. Lunabelle does well on car rides, but she does want to ride upfront. Her new family should have her secured when going on trips. She has good leash manners and does well on walks. Given her personality, we do not believe that Lunabelle would be a good candidate for apartment living.

Below you will find some additional info on this girl!

-Lunabelle is good with other dogs but is a little awkward at first. She was excited but didn’t know how to interact with them. She is still figuring out how to be a dog but is doing well and catching on quickly. She loves to run and play.

-Lunabelle is good with cats.

-Lunabelle is good with kids but is mouthy. She just wants to play but can get a little nippy sometimes. If her new family has kids, they need to be 12+. Her new family needs to also be okay or willing to work with her mouthiness.

-Lunabelle can be vocal so her new family should be okay with that. If they have close neighbors that are bothered by barking she probably isn't the girl for you.

-Lunabelle does like giving hugs. Her fosters are working with her on this, but it is something her new family will have to work on as well if they don't want her jumping on them.

-Lunabelle is potty trained. She was in a kennel temporarily and did fine, but it hasn't been necessary in her foster home.

-When no one is home, Lunabelle stays in the kitchen with access to the backyard. At night, she likes to sleep on the couch but will occasionally join her fosters in the bedroom and sleep on a doggy bed.

Lunabelle is being fostered in Collinsville, OK. We do not send our dogs on transports or ship them. This means her new family needs to pick her up, even if they are out of state.

We don’t believe Lunabelle was ever socialized before coming here. People and dogs both seemed to be a strange thing for her. She was a combination of nervous, scared, excited, and curious to be around us. She does catch on quickly and figured out the routine after a couple of days. We think it would benefit her to have another playful dog that will welcome her in and teach her the ropes. She does act like a herding dog and while she loves kids she will chase and nip at them if they run. If you would like to welcome this beauty to your family, you can apply to adopt her at https://www.pyrpawsandfluffytailsrescue.com/adoption-app

Her adoption fee is $225. That includes DHLPP, Rabies, and Bordatella shots. He will be micro-chipped, heart-worm tested, have a fecal done, be de-wormed, be spayed/neutered, and will be current on heart-worm and flea/tick prevention.
