Luna Rose's Story
Luna Rose was surrendered to the New York Animal Care Centers - the NYC Municipal shelter because her owners had no time for her. She lived with a toddler from two years old until they turned six. They literally just threw away such a good dog with a great disposition. She also lived with another dog.

She was slated for euthanasia because there was no room at the shelter. A wonderful woman stepped up to save her life. She is now being fostered and doing fantastically.

These are Luna Rose's STATS:

Age: 4 years old
Weight: 56lbs
Breed: Amstaff/Mix
Spayed or neutered? Yes
Good with: kids, strangers, small dogs, good on leash, housetrained, and crate trained.

Luna Rose would do great if you have a yard and an active, energetic family.

She likes to nibble on things and she’s mouthy. She’s very playful. When things are held above her head she takes that as being played with and will jump towards it or jump onto the person holding it. She has a habit of biting/tearing blankets however this was due to her anxiety in the beginning.
Luna is shy when meeting people and dogs, but she warms up and becomes friendly with them.

Watch out for your blankets and pillows because she will be nibbling on those too.

Luna is the biggest sweetheart and does so well in showing her caretakers how much she loves them. Luna is very affectionate and loves when you show her love back. She is very playful and, at times, mouthy in a playful way. She loves to be outdoors. She does very well in her walks. As long as you show who’s the leader she will not pull. She does well with kids and small dogs. She listens to commands and is housetrained and crate-trained. Her favorites are belly rubs and head rubs. She isn’t very anxious. Overall, our goal is for Luna to find her forever home that will show her so much love and not give up on her.
