Meet Luna! Luna is described as a friendly, playful, loving, intelligent, obedient goofball. She's full of love for everyone she meets, dogs and people alike and just wants to give and receive love. She enjoys being in physical contact, or at least proximity, to her family and would do best with a family that will return the love! She is submissive and eager to please, loves to learn new things and is very treat motivated. Her favorite activities include sturdy chew toys, cuddling with her humans, playing fetch, meeting new dogs at the dog park, and walks in any weather!
Luna already knows sit, lie down, give a paw, high-five, fetch & search (find). Her foster mom says the most endearing thing about Luna is her big floppy ears, her beautiful temperament and her pure love of life. Luna is the best of both worlds and is can be mellow and active.
Luna’s ideal family is active and enjoys the outdoors and has some bigger dog experience. She is an energetic girl and would also prefer a home with a yard for her to run around in and expend some additional energy after her walks. Luna is great with dogs and people of all ages, but given her size, she would do best in a home with kids over 10. She is very friendly but does like to jump up to say hi and so she may accidentally knock a smaller child down.
Luna loves her walks and currently goes out for a 20-30 minute walk 4 times a day. Luna is a puller on leash and will need a family that can work with her on this and she is strong and very excitable. She is working on this with her foster family and getting better, but she will need a sturdy handler. Luna wants to meet every new dog and human she sees on her walks and will pull towards them for pets and attention. Luna is jumpy at first but is working on polite greetings and learning to sit nicely before she is rewarded with pets.
When Luna's people go out, she is a very good girl and is trusted with free reign of a dog safe space. She is house trained and respectful of the home. She may whine for a few minutes, but then settles for up to 8 hours while her foster mom is at work. She enjoys having the radio on for company and a few toys to keep her busy. She will sleep quietly through the night on the couch or in bed with her human.
