Lulu Jack Russell Terrier & Chihuahua Mix Madras, OR

Lulu came is as a owner surrender by another relative as her previous owner had to go into hospice. She was extremely obese while in the care of the relative but she lost a lot of weight before returning here. She is now at 24 pounds and she should be at about 15 pounds. She is doing awesome loosing the weight and getting more energy. She is on thyroid meds and the vet thinks she might have to be on them for life. She is also on a prescription dog food that has very low calories but with diet and Excersice I think she could switch to regular food just less of it once she is down some more weight. She is currently in foster and goes out and helps with chores twice a day, well that's what we tell her, but she is actually getting her Excersice in. Shhh don't spill the beans to her. She is already feeling so much better and has much more energy. She is starting to play with toys now. She does well around the goats and cows. She just ignores them mostly. But she does like the baby goats and she is very motherly. She will bark at the chickens and guineas and if they are free ranging she will chase them. She does get along with other dogs as long as they are properly introduced. Big dogs she is not much of a fan of and will act dominant and sometimes aggressive until she gets to know them. Seems like she was bullied by a bigger dog before so she has to act tough before they get tough with her. She is housebroken, crate trained, walks great on a leash or without. She knows how to sit, shake, wait (as in wait to go in and out of the door and not rush out) kennel (go to your kennel) Loves to go on walks and go bye bye in the car. All you have to do is pick up her collar or leash and she will get very excited and yip and howl and run to the door. She's a big talker when she gets excited. She will greet you at the door when you come home with talks and kisses. She would do great in a home where they are home most of the time or can take her with them. But she does do well alone. She just loves to be with her people. Lets you trim her nails and give baths. She loves big fluffy blankets to lay on. She loves laying in front of the fireplace. She is not afraid of fireworks but after a while she will get bothered by them and try to leave from where they are but she does not freak out about them. You can do pretty much anything with this gal, example the dog wig pic! She is very social and wants to be everyone's friend. A perfect loving home is a must for this special gal.
