LuLu Hound & Shepherd Mix Lawrenceville, GA

LuLu is ready to meet you! This sweet girl is a Hound/Shepherd mix and she is seven months old. She came to us in April after being hit by a car. Her hip joint was fractured (actually split in two) and she had been suffering for several weeks before she finally made her way to us. There was talk of possible amputation, but Dr. Wallis at Gwinnett Animal Clinic did an FHO procedure instead to preserve her leg. It’s been almost two months since that surgery and LuLu has healed beautifully. She will always have a noticeable limp, but she’s using her leg more and more each day.

LuLu is an outdoorsy gal who LOVES water, sun and fun. She can often be found lounging on the hammock with her foster parents. She has an incredibly loving and gentle nature and truly loves her people. While she absolutely wants to be an indoor dog, LuLu would love a human (or family of humans) who spend a lot of time together enjoying the great outdoors. LuLu would be an amazing lake dog and swimming would be wonderfully therapeutic for her bum leg. She is a great car-rider and she has excellent leash manners. LuLu is both house-trained and crate-trained. She adores the other large dogs in her foster home. She is a big girl who is still growing and still in the gangly puppy stage, so she sometimes accidentally steps on her tiny Yorkie friend at her foster home. Though she means no harm, we believe LuLu is best suited to a home without tiny dogs.
LuLu is fully vetted -- spayed, microchipped, heartworm negative, and current on vaccinations and deworming. The adoption fee is $250. We accept payment in the form of cash, CashApp and Zelle. You can apply to adopt by submitting an application at www.sohfga.com.
