Lucy may be small, but she’s full of charm, curiosity, and a little streak of independence that makes her all the more lovable. Originally from Mississippi, Lucy is now settling into her foster home in Illinois and getting used to all the comforts of home life.
She’s learning what it means to be a family dog—getting familiar with her name, exploring the world on a leash, and soaking up all the love and attention. Like many puppies her age, she can be a bit stubborn at times, but she’s also incredibly smart and very treat motivated, which makes her a quick learner when training is consistent and positive.
Lucy sleeps in her crate at night and typically needs a potty break—her tiny body just isn’t quite ready to hold it all night. She’s making good progress with house training and has had very few accidents when kept on a routine. She’s still learning what’s okay to chew on (and what’s not), but her foster family has had good luck redirecting her with appropriate toys—especially if treats are involved!
She has bursts of playful energy, especially after mealtime, followed by cozy naps either in her pen or curled up next to you. She loves being near her people and enjoys affection, but she’s also confident enough to explore and entertain herself.
Lucy is sweet, clever, and a little bit spunky. She even knows how to play fetch and bring the ball back! She’d thrive in a home that can give her guidance, structure, and lots of love—as well as plenty of treats! If you’re looking for a fun and loving puppy to grow with your family, Lucy might be the perfect fit.
Adopters will be provided a voucher to cover the cost of spay/neuter when age appropriate at a participating vet.
