Lucy Jack Russell Terrier Toronto, ON

Lucy is a beautiful little 14 lb. Roughcoat JRT who just turned eight years old. She is housetrained, spayed, microchipped and up-to-date on vaccines.

Lucy will do well in a forever home with an active single person, couple or family with older, dog-experienced, responsible children. A home with a retired person/couple or adopters who work from home would be best.

Lucy must be the only dog in her adoptive home. While she really enjoys her walks, her fear of other dogs causes her to be reactive and aggressive when seeing them, so it would be best that she is walked somewhere quiet and private until she adjusts to her new environment and becomes comfortable. This could take some time.

Lucy would do best in a home where she is not left alone much although she is getting better being left for short times if given a Kong and treats. She will go in her kennel but really dislikes being confined (this should improve with time and training.) She is not at all destructive and can be left loose in the house but is vocal. Eventually she will just lay down and sleep.

She eats GO kibble with venison with tiny bit of canned to add flavour. A good eater, she loves hard cheese chews and has good teeth and breath.

Lucy would enjoy a fenced in backyard to romp around in or a country property where she can be walked in privacy as opposed to walking in busy areas where she can meet other dogs. She heels perfectly and calmly when asked as long as she’s not distracted. She loves her outings.

Lucy is a great sleeper and will snooze 8 to 10 hours at night. She knows lots of tricks and her reward is liver treats and belly rubs. An affectionate girl who adores all people and is very smart, Lucy likes to sit at your feet and chill or sleep on her own bed during the day and share your bed at night.

A very sweet girl and loving girl who, with patience and positive reinforcement, will make for a loyal companion in her forever home, Lucy is fostered in SEAFORTH, Ontario and her adoption fee is $475.
