Lucy Cattle Dog Mix Rifle, CO

Hi! I'm Lucy! I was born in foster care 6 months ago at RAS and was adopted out to a nice family. Unfortunately, they weren't able to keep me and have decided to let me join another family! I am currently in foster (With my mom!!!) and I am loving life. My foster wrote up this little bio for me:

"Lucy has been with me since Sept. 17th. She is just precious. She has not been in a crate since coming here. We are a free for all house! She has slept nicely on her blanket next to my bed each night. Hard when the other 4 dogs are snuggled on the bed. She is fun loving and curious.

I’ve always fostered broken dogs that needed to heal. Lucy is not that. She is a beautifully started puppy with pleasant, not perfect, house manners. She has not had an accident in the house. For her it would be. She gets excited and does jump. We are working on that. She is stand-off ish to strangers and will bark to alarm you. While here she has met alpacas, donkeys, neighborhood kids ages 7-11 and been around heavy equipment - tree spade. She loves other dogs and has even gotten my grumpy old Springer to play. (He didn’t want that to be known)

Lucy is skinny because she is like most toddlers she has 2 speeds - all out and asleep. We are working on twice a day meal times plus snacks. She loves chew bones and truly chasing reflections and butterflies. She eats 5-6 cups of high protein food a day plus milk bones dipped in peanut butter.

Lucy has had the privilege of space to roam and play. My home is 5 acres. Her previous home also had fields to roam and explore. She needs to have that space!

She is high energy but not obnoxious. She needs a person who will play with her snd give her the time to teach her. She is responsive and willing. She’d be amazing with another dog. I think going to a home where she would not have friends and space would be really hard.

So my summary- Cinnamon Spice! Lucy is a perfectly started puppy, who has house manners. She is willing, eager, smart and busy! Lucy has two speeds, all out and asleep. She has been crate trained but since coming to me she has been allowed to spend her days outside in a 5 acre parcel with 3 Springer buddies, her mom and other critters. Lucy deserves an active partner looking for a playmate and best friend. "
