Meet Lucy

Lucy has traveled all the way from southern Baja, Mexico to find her forever home. She was thin, weak and ill when she was rescued from an abusive home but today is healthy, fit and so very happy. Lucy is a 50 pound, 9 year old hound-ish mix. She will be an easy addition to most households: she's housebroken, super smart, great on a leash, knows basic commands (even in English!), and very seldom barks. (Other dogs need to be introduced on neutral territory and a feline free home will be necessary.) She'll bond quickly and tightly to her new person, smothering them with love, affection and loyalty. And yet, she displays no separation anxiety and is happy and quiet being left alone. Lucy is docile and calm and loves a good walk but otherwise, doesn't require much activity. Lucy experienced some sort of head trauma in her past resulting in a broken snout, only 3 teeth and a damaged tongue. It takes only a second to find her little tongue hanging from her mouth adorable. She's totally unfettered by this injury (including eating ordinary kibble). Lucy needs no pity (or special care) and is loving life while patiently waiting for her forever family.
Lucy is available at Community Animal Welfare Society. All CAWS animals are fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. Her adoption fee is $150.
