**We would love to talk to you about or any Lucy of our other available dogs but we first need everyone to go to our website and submit an adoption application.

Lucy’s Story: Tiny (seven pound) Lucy was picked up as a stray in Massachusetts and had been seriously neglected. Lucky Lucy was welcomed into JCCARE and was given medical care for an emergency dental issue.

Health: Lucy is up to date on all vaccinations, is spayed and just had a dental. Lucy has a heart murmur but is currently has no symptoms. She recently had an echo-cardiogram and the vet said there is no need for any medication at this time.

Temperament: Lucy is very active, only her gray hairs give away the fact that she is a senior. She is a really fun, engaging and happy dog who immediately charms everyone she meets. She helps her foster mom around the house with whatever chores need doing (gardening, cooking. making the bed).

My Ideal Home: Lucy’s main focus is on her “person” so her ideal home would be one with a retired or work at home individual or family. She does have some separation anxiety, for example if she is separated from me (for example if I am working upstairs) she will whimper until I bring her to “work” with me. She likes other dogs and could fit in well in a home with one other dog or a multiple dog family. She does enjoy being outside and going for walks. She is indifferent to cats outdoors and would most likely be accepting of an indoor cat. Older children only because she is such a tiny little girl.

Adoption Process: To adopt a Chin from JCCARE, start by filling out the application found on our website at www.japanesechinrescue.org. The application is under the Forms menu.

If you aren’t ready to adopt yet but would like to help this dog, please click on the purple SPONSOR ME button above the name. Your donation will help us to pay for the care of this dog until he/she finds a forever home.

JCCARE also maintains the lives of many senior and special needs Chin in our “Sanctuary” program. These dogs are not listed on Petfinder, as their health issues make them unlikely to ever be adopted. If you are a lover of the breed, could you please consider sponsoring one of our seniors? You can find their pictures and stories under OUR CHIN on our web site: www.japanesechinrescue.org
