Meet Lucky

******Please note, once completing the initial screen you will be connected with the placement for a video chat. Transports run every few weeks and we will have the dog on the next available transport once approved. If you are not able to accept a dog until a specific time period, please apply at that time************

We are a volunteer run rescue and donate our time to these dogs. IF you are not serious about moving forward in our adoption process, please do not apply. If someone other than yourself is part of the decision making process, please make sure you have spoken with them and they are on board. We really do not want to waste anyone's time if you are not serious about adopting this dog.

Lucky, 2 years old, neutered male, Husky/Corgi mix (we have a DNA test pending), 25 pounds. He is in a foster home in Austin, TEXAS and can transport out of State once an adopter is approved.

Lucky was an owner surrender when they were moving and could not bring him. We just happened to cross paths at the right time. Lucky has striking blue eyes, adorable pointy ears, and a short, stout, Corgi-like body with a fluffy tail that wags when he gets excited and playful. We really have no idea what breeds make up this guy and are excited to see what a DNA test yields.

Lucky is a little nervous yet observant and playful pup. He’s loveable and affectionate once he warms up to you. Lucky is crate trained and finds comfort in his crate. It’s his safe place where he sleeps, naps, and eats. As he builds confidence, he enjoys spending more time outside his crate, socializing, and cuddling with his foster family and doggie siblings.

Lucky can be a bit shy at first but quickly warms up and enjoys playing. He prefers the company of dogs his size with similar energy levels or larger dogs who respect his space. He may react defensively when meeting new dogs due to his nervousness and fear. However, this is just his way of expressing discomfort. With patience and understanding, he becomes more comfortable and social.

He loves playing with his foster siblings, two young puppies, 4 and 7 months old. There are several adult dogs in the home and he's a little unsure of their size and as he spends more time with them he has felt more comfortable.

Lucky hasn’t been around cats, so we’re unsure of his compatibility. We have no history with kids and recommend a home kids 12 years and older.

He does well on a leash but may need encouragement in new environments. He is housebroken. Lucky has moderate energy, enjoying a balance of playtime and relaxation. He would thrive in a home that matches his energy level, providing enough activity to keep him happy and healthy. Another dog in the home would help him continue his socialization and confidence-building.

He loves to sunbathe and lounge around (he loves to sit in the patio chairs like a little human!) He loves pets and cuddles once he feels comfortable. Lucky needs a patient family willing to earn his trust by providing a comforting environment, consistent socialization, and a strong routine. He’ll do best with dogs who respect his space, ideally those his own size. With love and patience, Lucky will become a wonderful, loyal companion. He has a lot of love to give.

***Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown. We rarely know a dog's exact age nor are we able to tell the true or full breed mix of dogs as our information is limited most of the time. ***
