Meet Lucas HW(-) SILLY BOY!
LUCAS is an adorable young boy in need of a loving home or rescue!!! Breed - Pit Bull /Shepherd Mix Age: 2yr Gender: Male Color: Brindle Spayed/Neutered: Yes Size: Large - approximately 50 lbs. Heartworm negative! ** You must have an approved adoption questionnaire on file BEFORE you are able to come meet the adoptable animals at the shelter; call (270.685.8275) or email (firstname.lastname@example.org) for an application today! ** (If you call and don't reach anyone--please be sure to leave a voice mail message so staff can return your call!) Lucas was picked up as a stray, so we have no background information on him. He is a shiny, happy young dog, approximately two years old, who loves to run and play. Because he is little more than a puppy he has a fair amount of energy, so he would love to have a home where he will get nice long walks, plenty of play time, and of course, lots of toys. Like all young dogs, Lucas will benefit from training and structure. Lucas is good with other dogs and loves people! Right now he has to spend many hours a day in a kennel, without much opportunity to have fun so he hopes that someone will come soon and fall in love with him!!! The Daviess County Animal Shelter is located at 2620 Hwy 81, Owensboro, KY. Adoption hours are Mon. Tues. Wed. & Fri.: 9-4:30(closed 12-1); Thursday 12-6 and Saturday 9-3 (closed 11:30-12). The Daviess County Animal Shelter takes in approximately 3,500 animals a year. Although our goal would be to find each pet a loving home, we realize that is not possible so we DO euthanize for space, illness/injury and/or temperament. We are a county funded facility that is open admission and cannot refuse any Daviess or McLean County animals- even if we are full. You can visit www.daviessky.org for a list of available animals and an adoption application or contact the shelter at 270.685.8275 or email@example.com. For information about fostering or becoming a rescue partner, emailing is the best option. Our shelter is VERY rescue friendly! An approved application is required before meeting any of our dogs or entering the kennel area. We strive in keeping our animals healthy, both physically and mentally, and kennel stress is a huge concern for our dogs. For their well-being, we only allow approved potential adopters and volunteers into the kennel area. This also reduces accidental bites which put the dogs at risk of not finding a forever home. Adopters are always encouraged to set up a "Meet and Greet," especially if you have other pets. And remember; set your pets up for success, not failure! The shelter always recommends slow acclimation to other pets, as well as supervision (especially with family members of different sizes, whether those family members are canine, feline, or human!) Make sure the pet you choose will fit your lifestyle and your expectations are realistic. And remember - YOU can make a difference! Spay. Neuter. Adopt. Foster. Volunteer. Donate. If not with us, please - check out your local animal shelters!
