Meet Lucas
Hi, my name is Lucas! Here is what would work best for me in my new home:
-Personality: Active/energetic, playful, affectionate
-Can Live with Kids: Yes, respectful kids 12+ who can handle a big bouncy puppy!
-Can Live with Cats: Yes, could likely live with a confident cat with a proper controlled, supervised introduction
-Can Live with Dogs: Yes, I could live with a social dog who matched my playstyle and tolerate puppy energy (No small dogs, senior dogs, etc.) - pending an initial introduction done here at the shelter
-Can do Apartment Living: Ideally no, I am high energy and need space to romp around.
-Bite History: No
-Positive Reward Based Obedience Classes Required: Yes, 1-3 private lessons, depending on adopters experience.
-Energy Level: High
-Needs Medical Procedure Before Going Home: Nope!
-Additional Information: Lucas is still just a puppy, who has not had the most consistent start to life. He was brought to the shelter at 2 months old, then returned by a different owner at 8 months old. Lucas has already had at least 4 owners at less than a year old and will truly need his next owner to be his forever home. Lucas is a goofy, social and loving boy who is very smart and food motivated. He needs consistent positive reinforcement training and a predictable routine to help him mellow out. Remember that high energy dogs need plenty of exercise and mental stimulation to keep them happy. Lucas will do well with a playmate of similar size, playstyle and energy that can help keep him out of trouble. If you'd like to meet Lucas, the first step is filling out an adoption application. Staff will review applications to ensure it's a good match before scheduling an introduction.
