Louie American Staffordshire Terrier Myerstown, PA

Say hello to the ever so handsome, Louie! He’s a dapper dude who joined us almost a year ago from ACCT Philly. At the perfect age of 3 years old, Louie is past the naughty puppy phase which means he would be the perfect guy for someone who doesn't want to potty train! He has a beautiful fawn coat with the most dreamy eyes to match. Louie's past is unknown and what we do know about him isn't the happiest tale to tell. When we picked Louie up last year he was a very sick boy and needed a lot of love and TLC. Once recovered from illness, you could tell that Louie was not as socialized with people as he was with other dogs. Louie is quite nervous around new people and tends to avoid most contact initially. Although his story prior to residing at HSLC is gloomy, his future is B R I G H T.

Luckily, Louie has found himself in an amazing foster home, where they are currently working on his socialization skills with other people. He will need a family committed to continuing this, as well as helping him polish up his manners (we all can use a polish every now and then!) Due to Louie's nervousness and anxiety with new people, it is recommended that there be multiple meet and greets done with him prior to taking this handsome hunk home!

His foster family says once he is comfortable with you he is a fun-loving dude who loves to hangout with his canine pals and be close to his people. He’s full of potential and will make one family very lucky! As he gains confidence and learns that not all people are bad, he’ll blossom into the beautiful Louie we know. As for kitties, we aren't sure, but will cat test him for the right family. Although he loves his people, due to his nervous demeanor and anxiety, we are looking for a family with no kids under the age of 16 and preferably another dog to show him the ropes (because again, he loves his canine pals)!
