Lotus German Shepherd Dog & Labrador Retriever Mix Richmond, KY

Meet Lotus! Lotus is a very sweet and active little girl. She loves to run and play with other dogs. When she's done playing she loves snuggling beside you wanting belly rubs. This girl doesn't know personal space, she wants to be right on top of her person giving kisses and getting loving. On adoption day, she will press her front paws to the kennel trying to get visitors to look at her, and her tail will be going a mile a minute. Lotus also makes us laugh with that classic German Shepherd satellite-ear-head-tilt when she's trying to key into our conversations.

Lotus does have some kennel anxiety and doesn't do well in wire kennels; a plastic kennel with a wire crosshatched door is best for her. She is still working on her kennel training but is otherwise house-trained. She is working on her basic commands. Lotus does well with other dogs, but has not been tested with cats. Lotus has growled at children before, but it was in a chaotic, stressful environment, so we can't say for certain she's not good with kids. We would recommend a family with small children to have a meet-and-greet with her first.

Lotus is believed to be a German Shepherd/Lab mix, although that's only a guess. She is very small for both breeds, so she might be mixed with something smaller, or she might just be small from malnutrition in her early life. Lotus is estimated to be six months old as of February 2023. She has been spayed, vaccinated, microchipped. and on heartworm prevention. With an approved application and home visit, her adoption fee is $159.
