Lottie Labrador Retriever Mix Virginia Beach, VA

****Please note that this dog was part of hoarding case and came from a situation where she lived with a large number of other dogs and had very little interaction with people.****

Meet Lottie! This shy pup didn't come from the best situation, but now she's hoping somebody will give her a chance to grow into a confident dog and live her best life. Lottie can be very nervous and she appreciates having some space to herself, so we are requiring older children in the home. We are also requiring that Lottie meets everyone living in the home, human and canine alike, just to make sure she's comfortable with everyone. Lottie has been in a foster home where her foster mom says she is doing so much better now that she is away from the chaos of the shelter life. She can be very timid around new people and new situations, so any new introductions will need to go slowly. She is much less timid when her canine pals are around and she LOVES roughhousing with them. Morning time is her favorite and she loves doing her zoomies in the backyard!! Having another active canine with a similar playstyle in the home is a MUST to help build Lottie's confidence. Because of her timid nature, she is not yet used to walking on the leash and adopters will need to remember to be patient and encouraging while she acclimates to all the newness. She will need a fenced in yard to play with her new canine sibling and to go potty outside. Lottie loves her crate and considers it her safe space so she would greatly appreciate having access to one in her new home. She sleeps through the night and has free reign of the house while foster mom is home. While it may take a few meetings for her to come up and lick your hand and wag her tail, once she does, she is SO worth it!!
