Meet Lolly

Meet Lolly! She is a very sweet and super affectionate 5 lb. Chihuahua. She loves snuggles, pets and scratches and is a very happy dog, she even looks like she is smiling sometimes! She is estimated to be about 11 years old. Lolly loves laps, burrowing in blankets, and fluffy beds. She also loves walks – she gets very excited at the word “walk” and is well behaved on a leash. She does, however, tend to bark and growl when she sees another dog but is improving with this.

Lolly will sometimes bark and growl for a minute when she meets a new person but loves them as soon as they give her some pets and scratches. She recently met small children and after a few minutes she warmed up and was begging for cuddles and following them everywhere. She can be a little nervous around other dogs, so it would be best for Lolly to be the only dog in the house or with dogs of similar size who will not be offended by her alpha dog personality!

When she first arrived in her foster home she would bark and cry when her family left her home alone for a bit, but this has improved greatly with time and she can now be left with no issue. However, in a new home Lolly may have this issue initially until she becomes more comfortable in her new home.

Lolly is typically housebroken and rarely has an accident if she is let out enough during the day, which is at least every 4 hours. She does occasionally have to go potty in the middle of the night as well. Her foster family has pee pads available when they leave her for a bit or for overnight, and she will utilize them perfectly. Her foster family has a fenced in yard but if it’s dark or rainy or windy Lolly will only go if someone is out there with her or if she is walked, otherwise she just stands and stares at the door.

Lolly rides well in a car as long as she has a nice comfy bed to lay in. Her favorite is a donut bed that her foster mom plans to send to her new forever home.
