Lola : A Tragic Story of a Mama Dog's Story

At just 2 years old, this sweet lab mix girl Lola has already overcome so much, yet she remains one of the sweetest and most gentle dogs you could ever meet.

Rescued from a high-kill shelter in Houston alongside her newborn puppies. Even while caring for her babies, she showed nothing but trust and kindness toward everyone around her.

Unfortunately, her babies were taken too quickly away from her, and Lola found herself at risk of euthanasia. But Lola had quickly become a staff favorite thanks to her calm, loving nature and incredibly easygoing personality. So she found help to get out of the shelter.

She was in foster care initially, and Lola’s foster family describes her as “the best dog in the universe” — and it’s easy to see why. She is quiet, well-mannered, affectionate, and wonderfully easy to handle.

Lola settles beautifully into home life and simply enjoys being near her people. She currently lives with another dog and young toddler children, and she does wonderfully with both.

Lola's fosters used to leave her free roam with their toddlers and she was best friends with their medium sized pup. But they found out that Lola did not do well with very tiny animals, and they had to put her in a boarding where she is living for the last two months. The boarding staff love her and think that she is an extremely smart and obedient pup, who needs to be seen by the one person who can change her world.

Lola weighs around 45 pounds, making her the perfect medium-sized companion. She has a calm and gentle presence that would fit beautifully into almost any home, whether you are looking for a family dog, a loyal companion, or an easygoing best friend.

Lola is spayed, microchipped, fully vaccinated, and kept on heartworm and flea prevention. She is currently being fostered in Houston, Texas, but can travel anywhere in the United States — and even to Canada — for the perfect forever home.

If you are looking for a sweet, quiet, loving dog who will bring endless comfort and companionship into your life, Lola may truly be your perfect match.

To meet this amazing pup via facetime or whatsapp or other video chat apps, please send a completed application via www.savesomesouls.com

Lola's adoption fee of $400 includes all vetting (DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter surgery and recovery, heartworm and flea prevention), a microchip with free lifetime registration, a high quality nylon Martingale collar, and harness.

Yards MUST BE adequately and fully fenced to adopt our pups. We do not accept electric or underground fences.

Our dogs are fully assessed by foster parents, vets and behaviorists, as well as videos and video chats are available to observe their manners in public. We are extremely transparent and like to share everything negative and positive with the adopters, to ensure it's a good fit and they are not returned to us, as the trips are very stressful on them.

Houston is home to million strays, many who are abandoned, many born on the streets, many who escaped while living in the yard, which is common in Texas. Since our rescue does not get grants that shelters get, we use adoption fee to help the pups and kitties in our care. Your adoption fee goes towards vetting and feeding our long term and permanent fosters, and unadoptable pups, as well as towards the monthly care and preventatives etc of our pets. By adopting one pup from our rescue, you make room for another dog to be rescued our high kill shelter, thus becoming an integral part of our mission to save as many unfortunate dogs off the streets and shelters as possible. So Thank you for choosing to rescue, and not go to a breeder.

Save Some Souls's Adoption Policy
Once a pet is ready for adoption, we place them online. Potential adopters must fill out our application form, which is mandatory before meeting the pup. Once processed, the potential adopters and fosters are connected to share more info about the pup. After the application is approved for meet and greet, the potential adopters coordinate with rescue to meet the pup. For an in person meet, we require a copy of the drivers license to be sent to us for verification. Out of state adopters are able to do a facetime meet with the pup. After the meet, we take notes from our fosters for final decision. If the foster feels the pup and the adopter are a great match, then we move forward with homecheck. Homechecks are in person or via video apps like whatsapp or zoom or facetime, Once all works out, we send our contract and fee invoice, and schedule pick up of the pup, either in person or via transport, if out of state. All our pets are fixed before they are adopted, no exception. If your application is approved for adoption, but it is not appropriate for the pup you applied for, we would offer you the right match or direct you to a more suitable rescue group who may have the right pups for your lifestyle.
