There's nothing quite like puppy energy and silliness...and then they lie quietly on your shoulder breathing their warm baby breath. They're so pure and vulnerable that it's unbearable to think of them in a disrespectful or compromised situation.

Loki, at just 12 weeks old and 9 lbs (estimated to be full grown at about 35 - 40 lbs), was facing the end of his life before it ever began. Farfel's Isla Mujeres rescuers (just off the coast of Cancun, Mexico) are compassionate and loving and couldn't turn their back on this sweet and very loving puppy. They rescued Loki (and his littermates) just in time to prevent them from scary experiences on the crowded streets of Isla Mujeres. This adorable baby is starting out with great energy and sweetness...the excellent results of his temperament-testing ended with a transport ticket to Colorado and a new life.

Loki is incredibly beautiful...with a coat the purest of white with the cutest marking ever over one eye. Loki's hair is cottony-soft and you just want to pet him all day and tell him how beautiful he is. Loki will require a lifelong commitment to periodic grooming and excellent nutrition. 5 star food and a daily salmon oil supplement are recommended for general longevity and hair care to keep Loki's coat cottony-soft, matt-free and very healthy.

Loki is appropriately playful and inquisitive for his young age. He is one of a 6 puppy litter being fostered by a single Isla Mujeres family. His fostered relayed that Loki loves to have so much fun with the other puppies. But after everyone has played very hard, little Loki loves to snuggle and cuddle..and is just the sweetest and most loving boy ever! Wonderful Loki will be a perfect fit for an active and dog-crazy Colorado family that loves including their dog in their activities.

Since Loki is just a baby, he's a blank slate just waiting for a kind and patient human to show him the way. He has all the potential in the world to be an awesome adult companion - he will form firm bonds with his family (as well as other dogs and humans) and learn excellent socialization skills through positive reinforcement/force-free puppy kindergarten followed by level 1 group obedience classes. These classes can be taken either virtually or in-person depending on the choice of the adopter. It does take time and commitment...yet pays off a thousand times over when you have a dog that can accompany you out in the world with excellent behavior. It's for these reasons that we will only adopt Loki to a family that will make the loving choice of training and participate in these classes with one of our approved trainers.

We're open to Loki finding his forever home with a retired couple or individual with lots of energy and love to train and enjoy a puppy. Loki enjoys children as well but we would prefer to place him in a home with older kids that can participate in a gentle yet consistent training regimen. We aren't open to Loki being left alone for long hours while his family works full-time outside of the home. Therefore retirees or younger families that work from a home-based office would be perfect for this very loving best friend.

Loki will be up to date on his vetting/vaccinations to be in line with our commitment to only adopting out healthy puppies. Loki will also be neutered prior to his transport to Colorado. This supports our work and hopes that one day dog overpopulation will become a thing of the past and therefore it will be unnecessary to euthanize a healthy dog.
