MUST LIVE IN ROCHESTER, NY AREA TO ADOPT and have a physically fenced in yard for him to safely run and play in.

Little Joe is a 5 month old Australian Shepherd. He was born in a puppy mill but has been released to freedom & the right to enjoy life! He loves attention and playing. He is every bit a puppy, needs to learn not to jump or mouth hands. For this reason he is not suitable for a home with young children. He is very sweet and follows you everywhere. He is beautifully crate trained & sleeps through the night. Very treat motivated and is learning his basic commands.
He has a bubbly, outgoing personality and loves people. Is fostered with 4 other dogs and does well with all. He may have alpha tendency, but the resident alpha in foster home eventually schooled him after a few days to where he fit in in the pack. He will need another dog in the home or someone who is home more.
He is just a happy dog who readily comes to you with tail wagging & kisses to share. He will make an amazing addition to a home who know and love Aussies. He is a bundle of energy & fun.
He is vaccinated, HW test was negative, microchipped and has a health certificate. He has not yet been neutered. He would be going to his new home under an alter contract. Adopter will need to get him neutered within 3 mths of adoption and provide proof of this to the rescue. We are in Rochester, NY, we adopt to people who live in the Rochester area. We do not ship our dogs and require home visits. Must live in area to adopt, will not respond to out of area/country requests. Additionally, if fencing is required it must be a physical fence and in place at time of home visit.
