Meet Little Girl
Little girl was the last to be adopted, and a little shy once her brothers left into their new homes, which is to be expected. Lots of changes very quick for her. She left for her new home, and the woman claimed she had fostered for other rescues and knew she would need time. After a few days I recieved a message that she was unable to catch her, which I had never had that problem here. She was nervous but never ran from me. I explained until she got used to her she would probably need a smaller area and a leash and harness on to minimize having to chase or corner her and scare her worse. At that time we spoke and she said she would give her 3 weeks...which with some dogs isn't enough time, but I figured surly she would come around by then. Shortly after our conversation my phone died, anyone in rescue knows sometimes that's a blessing because we get a break from 100's of calls. So I was in no rush to charge it. I finished my day and turned my phone on. I had multiple messages from her now saying she was bringing her back tomorrow and if I didn't accommodate she was putting her over my gate. Which I run my rescue from my home and virtually by myself with 9 horses and 85 plus dogs. I am not always here, I have vet appointments and such off site. Fast forward. I canceled my app told her just bring her back.
Since Little girl came back she has been stuck on me like glue. now...it took her 2 months to WILLINGLY let me pick her up with out cornering her. I do not know what happened in that home in a short amount of time but she lost all trust. She wont take a treat from your hand anymore, she follows me everywhere and licks my calves to let me know she is there. If I sit down she will jump up and sit with me and sleeps with me at night. But she is very untrusting at first. Once you break the ice and allow her to come to you she is the best friend you never knew you were missing. She is funny and playful and gets the zoomies all the time. I would suggest no children as they are just too much stim for her. she would never bite that I have seen so grandbabies coming over would probably be no issue. She loves other dogs and suggest a home with one for her sake. She is a very small 10 to 11 pounds, mainly because she's all muscle not because she is big. She is approx. 1 year and 2 months as of Aug 2022. If you think Little Girl is a good fit for you and you ARE WILLING to give her time then please fill out the application at sgerinc.com to get started.
