Meet Lily Tomlin

Beautiful salt and pepper coated Lily Tomlin is a 40 pound, 13 years young senior Retriever/Chow mix looking for some love in her golden years...and that's the truth!

Given up on and neglected, Lily Tomlin is now learning about the responsibilities and pleasures of being a cherished in-home gal. She is doing well with housebreaking — it helps that she loves to be outside and on leash.

While she seems distressed in the crate (barking nonstop), she does well outside it for 3-4 hours at a time, sleeping on the cool hard wood floors. She prefers to spend her time following her human and soaking up gentle pets and loving, rather than by herself.

Lily Tomlin has not displayed any food issues and will take treats very gently.
She will even take medication if it is hidden in a peanut butter pill pop.

She is not a big "player" but peacefully coexists with her foster's dog, with just a hint of sibling rivalry attitude, especially when seeing who can get the most human attention. Due to her age, we would not recommend a home with younger kids.

Are you in the market for a Velcro dog that wants to lavish you with attention? Fill out an application now for our one-of-a-kind Lily Tomlin and enjoy your days together.

Please check our events page at http://www.SecondCityCanineRescue.org to find where this dog may be shown this weekend. If you are interested in adopting this dog, you must send an application or email us at adoptions@sccrescue.org prior to a Saturday Adoption Event so we know you plan on attending. If we do not receive any communication from you, the dog may be adopted out at our event prior to 12 pm if the perfect home comes along. :-)

The breed or breed mix listed for each dog is simply a guess. The profile software program requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. However, visual breed identification is unreliable. We encourage you to select your new companion by considering each dog’s individual personality and pet qualities instead of relying on a breed label that is only a guess. Dogs are individuals.

Please understand, we only adopt our animals out near Chicagoland... we are sorry but we cannot accept any out of state applications. We look forward to speaking with you!
