Meet Lily- Dynamic Diva seeking a low-key home
Saved from the euthanasia list at the local humane society, Lily fell safely into the arms of her foster and trainer. Heelers are a highly misunderstood breed. Often chosen as pups for their beautiful markings, they find themselves lost, abandoned and nameless by adulthood.
Lily is in many ways a typical heeler; tireless, loyal, playful and bossy. She lives with other dogs but chooses to be left alone. For this reason, a home with no dogs or one with low energy (possibly a senior) would suit her best.
Lily is what we call "slow to warm up". Introductions to strangers and other dogs should be undemanding. She is smart and she will trust over time. This is a dog who has been let down in life and chooses her friends carefully but when she does choose them, she is all in!
Lily is independent and years past the puppy stage. She is not destructive and displays no separation anxiety. She does well being alone throughout the day so someone who works a 9-5 that could be home at lunch for a game of fetch would suffice.
There's a depth to this one. She'll show you over time. If you have the patience to unfold her many layers, you'll have yourself the steadfast companion you've been searching for.
Lily is 45 pounds and 5 years old. Her foster is her trainer and offers great advice for a successful adoption.
