Liberty German Shepherd Dog Mix Oklahoma City, OK

Meet Liberty! She is 1 year old and 43 pounds. She is the perfect size! She is spayed, up to date on vaccinations and preventatives, and microchipped! She does not have any special needs to take any medications.

Liberty is a fun, loyal pup who thrives on attention. She is very affectionate and wants to be with her family having fun 24/7. She has done well with older children that she has been around (ages 9-13) and could do fine with younger children that know how to respect a dog's boundaries (ages 5+). She is good with other dogs but slow introductions are always best. She has been exposed to cats at the vet and is interested in them, but we are unsure how she would be with cats in a home.

Liberty is working on kennel and house training, as well as leash training. She is still learning and will need a family that can help her keep up with her training. But she is a smart girl who just wants to make you proud! She is getting more comfortable riding in the car and more practice will be great for her.

Liberty is medium energy and enjoys walks, sticks, toys, and nylabones. She does resource guard, including her cherished nylabone, and would do best fed in her own area and with supervision when tasty bones are out. Everyone likes a little space when eating their favorite snack! She would thrive in a home that includes her in activities, like walks and hikes! When out on a walk, she loves to carry around one of her favorite stuffed toys.

This sweet girl was found padlocked in a shed for who knows how long. She has come a long way trusting people and learning how to be a happy girl again! She does experience some separation anxiety that she and her foster are working on. But she truly loves her people and wants nothing more than to show you just how much!
