Liam Mastiff Conover, NC

Liam is a 6 year old Mastiff. He is about 130 lbs but needs to gain weight. We feel that he has been living a neglected life before animal control was called about him.
He was found as a stray in someone's yard and had collapsed. He was rushed to the vet where he was diagnosed with laryngeal paralysis which can kill a dog if not treated. We did his surgery and he has made an amazing recovery. However due to his laryngeal problem future anesthesia is risky and the vet does not feel it is safe to neuter him.
He has a lot more energy although Mastiffs sleep a lot. When he runs with you, you better hang on or run too.
He LOVES being in a family and is actually the perfect dog. He isn’t bothered by other dogs, cats, chickens, or kids. He doesn’t get on the furniture because he’s not very sure-footed. He does give bunches of slobbery kisses.
It was also discovered that he has heartworms and we are currently getting him treated for that as well. He still has a few months before he will be 100% healthy but would love to find his perfect family that will foster him while we get all of his medical work complete.
