Meet Levi
Meet Levi!

Levi was pulled from a local shelter by The Unforgotten Souls Rescue at the end of March. He had only a few hours to spare before he was scheduled to be euthanized. After discussing his personality with the shelter staff to ensure that he would be a good fit for his potential foster’s household we determined there was no way we could let anything bad happen to such a sweet soul, a staff favorite.
The shelter staff was able to share his background story with us and it’s as heartbreaking as expected for a dog that showed up at the shelter severely emaciated. This sweet boy was chained up outside his residence being used as a guard dog. Luckily for us, when his owner ended up getting in trouble with the law and was sent to jail (serves them right) they made the decision to surrender Levi to law enforcement. It’s a good thing he has been retired from his guard dog duties because we don’t think it’s possible that he made a very good one seeing as when he was tested with a cat he was more than happy to let the cat beat him up without even trying to rebuttal. Have we mentioned that he’s the best boy?!
Levi’s foster mom has reported back that he is just as much of a sweetheart as the shelter staff said. He is currently enjoying receiving lots of much deserved TLC….and even more cuddles! When the hoomans aren’t available, Levi is happy to cuddle with his teddy (see pictures).
Now some details about Levi….
We believe he is about three years old. He tested friendly with dogs and cats while at the shelter, and has done well through the fence with his foster siblings. Levi LOVES to be held. He will tuck his head into your chest and stay there as long as you want him to. If you’ll let him, he will even hug you back just like a human! If you’re extra lucky you will even get to hear one of his “I’m very content here” grunts! Icing on the cake…Levi must’ve been an indoor pup at one point because he is house trained. Our foster also reports that he is not destructive, and very rarely barks. He truly is an exceptional pup to want to be the most well behaved and loving boy for his future special people, even after everything he has been through.
Like all of our rescues, Levi wasn’t given a fair start to life, but we have high hopes for this boy and his unbreakable spirit!
