Lesly was rescued by a kind man. He found her starving in his neighborhood and coaxed her into his home for nutritious meals.

With a guesstimated birthday in Dec. 2022, Lesly weighs about 25 lb. She'll grow, but we aren't sure how much.

Leslly is a sweet, snuggly little girl. She loves to be with her people and is learning leash manners. She understands that sleeping in a crate is necessary, but follows her foster mom around whenever allowed.

Lesly isn't house-trained yet, but she's trying to learn. As with most puppies, she gets excited when outside and sometimes forgets to potty until she gets back inside. Consistency and frequent visits outside for potty breaks, as well as judicious crating, will help her learn. We recommend potty breaks every hour. If successful, she can play out of her crate for 10 - 15 minutes, then return to her crate with a treat to wait for the next hour and her potty break.

Lesly loves people and polite dogs. She'll bark when separated from her people - if they're at home - but doesn't vocalize excessively when crated at night.

Whether dogs / puppies come in as strays or owner surrenders, we usually have to make our best guess as to birthdate and breed.

If adopted into a home with other animals, particularly cats, your new pet should be crated or secured when you're not available to supervise to insure a harmonious relationship.

A vet reference is required to confirm responsible pet ownership. Requirement is a minimum three year vet history documenting current / previous pets are spayed / neutered, kept up to date on core vaccinations, and on heartworm prevention. We suggest first time pet owners without a vet history look for an adult dog for companionship and to gain experience. Other rescues or your local government-run animal control agency may have different adoption requirements.

Adoption fee covers two vaccinations. Additional fees for 3rd puppy vaccination, refundable spay/neuter deposit, etc. may apply.

We are an all-volunteer, foster-based rescue. We receive no funding from agencies.

Not all foster dogs are available for viewing during public events, held most Saturdays at Tractor Supply (360 Blowing Rock Blvd) in Lenoir, NC from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. We recommend interested parties contact us to pre-qualify for adoption so their new furry family can go home once paperwork is complete.
