Leroy German Shepherd Dog Mix Bellingham, WA

Hi, my name is Leroy! Here is what would work best for me in my new home:

-Personality: HIGH ENERGY, active, playful, friendly, goofy, a big ole puppy
-Can Live with Kids: Yes, sturdy kids ages 8+ (up to counselor's discretion). I'm big and rude and will likely knock small children over.
-Can Live with Cats: Unknown history, but at this time we are recommending no cats be in the home - I will likely chase/overwhelm them.
-Can Live with Dogs: No, I'm a bit rude and likely overwhelming to other dogs. I would benefit greatly from socialization with other dogs in a controlled environment (ie. under the supervision of a trainer). I am NOT a dog who can go to dog parks or breweries/restaurants frequented by other dogs.
-Can do Apartment Living: No, I'm way too much dog for an apartment. I would do best in a home with a big fenced yard.
-Potty Trained: Yes
-Bite History: No
-Positive Reward Based Obedience Classes Required: Yes, at least one private lesson
-Energy Level: HIGH
-Needs Medical Procedure Before Going Home: Yes, a neuter / MC

Additional Information: Leroy is a big sweetheart who needs a little help working on his manners. Though he appears to be full grown, Leroy is actually only 8 months old and is still very much learning what it takes to be a good boy. Leroy's perfect match would be an active person/family who has plenty of time and patience to dedicate to his training.

It should be noted that German Shepherds are WORKING DOGS - this means they are very intelligent and need lots of exercise AND mental stimulation. If you're looking for a low energy canine companion who is happy with one or two short walks a day, Leroy is NOT the dog for you! If you're an avid outdoor enthusiast who goes on lots of hikes, runs, swims, etc... you may have found your new companion!
