Meet Leroy
Leroy is a 7.5 year old red smooth dachshund. He is approximately 11.5 lbs. and is at a perfect weight.
He is sweet and has never met a person he didn't like. He does well with other friendly dogs when introduced slowly.
He lives to play ball and could play fetch all day long. He would be suitable around kids (8+), as well as men and women of all ages. He walks well on a leash and loves exercise but hates riding in the car. He would prefer a home that will let him sleep in bed with his humans. He would also prefer someone who is not gone long hours every day as he has some separation anxiety.
He recently had his dental and is ready for adoption. He had some slightly above normal liver values that may have been attributed to his dental disease, so we started him on a natural supplement. His forever home should repeat his blood work in about 3 months to confirm things have normalized.
What's the catch with this perfect sweet boy? He needs work on potty training. He went inside the house for years and is now learning to connect the dots that he is supposed to go outside to do his business. This training will take time, although his amazing foster family is working overtime to teach him this.
Requirements for Leroy's Forever Home:
Patience and experience with potty training
Home with a yard to reinforce potty training (a dog door would be fantastic)
Someone who likes throwing a ball everyday!
